Donating Goods and Services to Heading Home
Heading Home, relies on the support of the many people who give goods and services. If you are interested in donating goods, please review our wish list below. If you have questions regarding donations, please contact Stacey Gordon, Volunteer Coordinator at 617-864-8140. If you are interested in donating services such as printing, catering, design, public relations or other services, please contact 617-864-8140. Donating items from the list below can help free up financial resources that we can then use directly in our programs for homeless children.
BEFORE MAKING YOUR DONATION, call our office at 617-864-8140 between 9 am and 5 pm (EST). This will allow us to schedule a drop-off appointment, itemize your donation, and plan for distribution. So that we may thank you for your donation and provide a receipt for tax purposes, please include with your donation your name, address and estimated value of your donation. Heading Home’s Family Programs Wish List Holiday Season - during the holiday season, Heading Home gladly accepts donations of new and unwrapped toys, books, and arts and craft supplies. (Please see below for a complete details list of our current needs and a list of items that we can not accept).
To help us better manage the increased donations we receive during this season, please let us know well in advance that you wish to donate and provide us with an idea of what you would like to donate. Also a few days before dropping off any items please contact us again to provide a description of your donation and to schedule delivery. Your donations are important to us and we appreciate your generosity. • Desks
• Office furniture
• Large furniture items such as hutches, buffets, pull-out couches (sleeper sofas), and futons
• Large appliances such as stoves, washing machines and dryers
• Exercise equipment
• Wheelchairs and walkers
• TVs
PLEASE NOTE: Heading Home does not have an in-house furniture pick up and therefore must charge a $25 pick up fee. This fee will help offset the cost to Heading Home to hire an outside service to pick up and deliver furniture. Also, note that we may at times have to decline donations if we are unable to schedule a pick up or do not have an immediate need.
