Heading Home Event 2007
HEADING HOME 2007… The Driving Force for Shelter!
Heading Home 2007 was a record-breaking success! Co-chairs Andrew & Amanda Hoar and Corey & Deidre Griffin helped raise over $630,000 that will allow Shelter to continue to expand its work to end homelessness in Greater Boston.
On May 17th, guests entered the Commonwealth Complex at the Seaport World Trade Center to show their support for Shelter’s innovative programs and services. This year’s event featured a variety of classic, sport, and hybrid motorcycles. Over 800 guests strolled around the room, admiring the incredible selection of bikes and enjoying cuisine provided by some of Boston’s best restaurants and chefs. Once again, WBZ-TV’s Kasey Kaufman led the program portion of the evening and introduced Shelter’s Executive Director, Tom Lorello and professional auctioneer, Steve Scofield. Steve Scofield conducted the live auction, silent auction, and the Heading Home Champions pledge drive that raised over $111,000!
We would like to thank the many talented chefs, motorcycle owners, donors, and members of the planning committee who contributed in substantial ways to make Heading Home 2007 a memorable event. The evening was an opportunity for Shelter to recognize its generous donors, but also served as a reminder that homelessness remains a significant issue that affects all of us in Boston.
